The TravCave Constitution
TravCave is built on trust, helpfulness, and respect. These guidelines ensure our community remains a welcoming space for digital nomads worldwide.
Acceptable Content
We encourage content that helps fellow nomads thrive:
- Helpful information β Share accurate details about places, costs, and experiences that help others plan their journeys.
- Honest reviews β Provide genuine feedback based on personal experience, including both positives and areas for improvement.
- Accurate locations β Ensure pins, addresses, and directions are correct and up-to-date.
- Respectful discussions β Engage with others courteously, even when you disagree.
- Constructive feedback β When suggesting edits, explain why the change improves accuracy.
Prohibited Content
The following content is not allowed and will be removed:
- Spam or promotional content β No advertising, affiliate links, or purely commercial posts without genuine value.
- Hate speech or discrimination β No content targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Harassment or personal attacks β No bullying, threats, doxxing, or content intended to intimidate others.
- Intentionally false information β No deliberately misleading reviews, fake locations, or fabricated details.
- Commercial self-promotion β No using places or reviews primarily to advertise your own business or services.
- Illegal content β No content promoting illegal activities or violating local laws.
The Three Strikes Rule
Fair but firm enforcement
We believe in giving people a chance to learn from mistakes, but repeat violations will result in escalating consequences:
- 1First violation β Warning notification with explanation of the rule broken and guidance on how to comply.
- 2Second violation β 7-day suspension from posting, editing, and reviewing. Your account remains visible.
- 3Third violation β Permanent ban from TravCave. This decision is final for severe cases but may be appealed for borderline situations.
Appeals Process
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you can appeal by contacting us at appeals@travcave.com within 14 days. Please include your username, the content in question, and your reasoning. Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days.
Guideline Updates
These guidelines may be updated as our community grows. Major changes will be announced in the community feed. By using TravCave, you agree to follow the current version of these guidelines.
