Everything you need to know about TravCave

Sherpa Program

Sherpas are the backbone of TravCave's local community. They keep city information accurate, help newcomers, and maintain the quality of our platform.

What is a Sherpa?

Sherpas are the guardians of their specific city.

Just like mountain sherpas guide climbers to success, TravCave Sherpas guide digital nomads through their city. They're verified local experts who live in or deeply know a city, ensuring that all place information, reviews, and community content meets our standards.

Sherpa Responsibilities

Being a Sherpa is a commitment to your city's nomad community. Here's what Sherpas do:

Daily moderation β€” Review the moderation queue for your city, checking new place submissions and edit suggestions.

Approving and rejecting β€” Approve quality submissions that meet guidelines, reject spam or inaccurate content with helpful feedback.

Verifying accuracy β€” Confirm that places exist, addresses are correct, and details are up-to-date based on your local knowledge.

Community support β€” Help answer questions from nomads visiting or considering your city.

Time commitment: Expect to spend 15–30 minutes per day on moderation, depending on city activity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I be a Sherpa for multiple cities?

Yes, but only if you have genuine expertise in each city. Most Sherpas focus on one city to provide the best moderation quality.

What happens if I need to take a break?

Just let us know! Sherpas can take temporary breaks. For extended absences, we may assign backup coverage for your city.

Can I lose my Sherpa status?

Sherpa status can be revoked for inactivity (30+ days without moderation) or abuse of moderation powers. We always communicate before making changes.
